Instructives in Network Discourse

This is an open access article distributed under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0).
The article deals with a speech genre “instructives” in network discourse. Its basic feature is intention to help a communicative partner and it is represented in advice, recommendation and instruction. Its two main types include responsive and initiative instructives, the former express an explicit problem, a request to solve it and a reaction to it whereas the latter contain preactive advice. The communicative entities in question are often ironic, the express either positive or negative attitude to a partner and illustrate either practical life-hacks or basic moral presumptions of living. Instructives in the web often merge with entertaining genres of playful sayings such as absurd or “harmful”advice.
